Stage 9

A gentler stage by Coast to Coast standards follows Swaledale downstream toward Richmond. Valley paths and riverside tracks replace the highest moors of the previous days.

Richmond is a historic town with a castle, a large market square, and plenty of places to stay. Worth an extra night if you want a proper rest before the North York Moors.
